Why buying a gaming PC is more recommended than a laptop?

With the rapid growth of the gaming industry, more and more people are having their own gaming devices. If you don’t or wondering to buy one, please read this article to help select the device most fitted you. You may hesitate between low-cost gaming PCs and fancy gaming laptops. My recommendation is to always choose desktops.

Upgradability

Computer components are updating so fast that your high-end device featuring premium parts at that time could be just moderate after 3 years. If you are the person who likes to enjoy the best quality of the latest games, you will need to upgrade your gaming device every 3 years.

Since most parts like GPU and RAMs are soldered onto the motherboard, upgrading a laptop would be almost impossible, especially laptops use special components that are not easy to find on the market. As a result, gaming desktops are your best choice. You can easily grab any components from BestBuy and install them on your PC. Even if you are not an enthusiast on gaming quality, desktops are still your best choice because of their low cost, fancy look, and easy to main.

Performance

Probably you don’t know that gaming laptops are always more expensive than desktops of EQUIVALENT performance. The reason for that is that they are built to run on lower power and to weigh less. For example, even if it is said RTX 2060 is built in a laptop, its performance would not be as good as RTX 2060 in desktops, and gaming laptops are even cost more. Imagine a gaming laptop is sold at $1800 and the same performance desktop only costs $1100, would you still buy gaming laptops?

Here is a quick look of gaming notebook vs desktop made by Harware Canucks.

Looks

Whether the computer looks good or not, really depends on the people. Is an RGB PC case with fancy lights looks better than magnesium alloy chassis with the frosted surface? Different people always have different opinions, but the only common point is that you can change the appearance of the PC looks only on desktops. Based on my own experience, all starters tend to love the fancy RGB lights while people who own their PC for years do not care that much about how their PC looks like. In order to have a chance to change your PC appearance, buying a desktop would be a nothing bad decision.

Which one do you think looks better?

Besides, there are also some stores specifically work on customizing PC appearance. Check their work if you are interested. If you are still interested in buying a new gaming laptop, here are some recommendations.
